  1. How do I host a screening of Super High Me?

Easy. Though apparently not so easy that a few of you haven't been confused. So to help out, we created this handy tutorial, which explains everything you need to know.

For more help with the details, we put together this handy little video tutorial:

  2. Can i host a private screening?

Absolutely. You can have a private screening if you have a members-only group or organization, or if you are showing SHM at a private club or home.

Take a look at any private event on the site (see www.superhighmemovie.com/sample/screenings/. We list the city and state, and any event title, etc, but the street address remains hidden for all private events.  No one will show up at your doorstep, unless of course you list the address yourself in the body of your event page.

  3. When can I order the DVD for my screening?

You can order the Screening DVD once you have submitted your event and it has been approved. You will receive an email notifying you that your event has been approved. Once your event is approved, you will be able to order your DVD directly from your private event page.

See this screenshot for an example of what you will see.

  4. How do I order the DVD for my screening?

You can order the Screening DVD once you have submitted your event and it has been approved. You will receive an email notifying you that your event has been approved. Once your event is approved, you will be able to order your DVD directly from your private event page.

See this screenshot for an example of what you will see.

Click on Add to Cart for the Screening Kit DVD, fill out your shipping and credit card info, and check out. That's it.

IMPORTANT NOTE: make sure you select a shipping method that will guarantee your DVD's arrival prior to your screening date. Don't cut it too close -- you don't want your event to arrive with no DVD to screen.

  5. Will my DVD arrive in time for my event?

We use UPS for domestic shipping. It costs a bit more, but 3-day actually arrives in 3 business days, 2-day in 2 days, etc. UPS Ground should arrive in 4 business days, but is not guaranteed.

IT IS UP TO YOU TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SHIPPING METHOD. If you have a large group of people depending on you, don't be cheap and try to save $3 by choosing the wrong method. In a pinch, you can ship next-day air, but it's expensive.

If your DVD has not arrived and you think it should have, drop us a line any time at superhighme@bside.com.

  6. I created an event. How do I log back in to make changes?

You can log in here, or click My Event Login on the left side of any page under the SHARE IT menu.

  7. I forgot my password.

No sweat. If you forgot your username or password, go here, or on the login page click forgot username or password.

  8. How much does it cost to Roll My Own screening?

There are no screening charges to host a Roll Your Own event. The only charges are a $2.95 service charge, plus actual shipping charges.

  9. Why is shipping so expensive? I thought you said this was free?

Rolling Your Own Screening is free, in that you do not have to pay a screening fee of any kind. This is a pretty radical idea -- you can't just host your own premiere of any movie, especially before it comes out on DVD. Here's the deal.

    • The right to publicly screen a new feature film during it's premiere week typically costs thousands of dollars.  We are offering this for no screening fee because we think everyone should have a chance to see the film.
    • Shipping costs are a bit high, but UPS is the only way to guarantee that DVDs will arrive in time for 4/20 screenings.
    • We are making NO money off these screenings.  The shipping and handling fees are our actual out-of-pocket costs.  Venues are allowed to sell concessions, which should more than make up for the nominal shipping charges.
    • It would have been nice to be able to ship DVDs sooner to lower those costs, but we had to guarantee that DVDs would not arrive too far in advance of 4/20, given that Super High Me is playing a few traditional theaters this week.

Bottom line is you get to see Super High Me as part of a historical, nationwide grassroots event. Plus you get to keep the DVD. Seems like a pretty fair deal when you think about it.

  10. Do I have to return the DVD after my screening?

Nope. It's all yours. All we ask is that if you love Super High Me as much as we think you will, tell everyone you know about it.

  11. How do I find my event page to share with other people?

When you are logged in to edit your event, click on Manage, and you will see a link to your event. Click on View and you will be taken to your event page.

You can copy and past the page URL into an email to tell other people about your event. Or, you can click on the Share This link on any page, which will let you send an email, SMS, or post to Facebook, MySpace, digg, or other sites.

  1. I'm not hosting a screening. Can I still buy the DVD?

Super High Me will be released on DVD on June 19. Starting Friday, you can pre-order the DVD here on this web site. Everyone who hosts or attends a Roll Your Own Screening event will receive a coupon code for a discount on DVD pre-orders, as well as t-shirts, posters and other cool Super High Me stuff.

  2. What's the deal with all the private events?

The idea here is that we're trying to build fans for the movie, and it turns out that a lot of people really want to be able to experience Super High Me on 4/20 in a private setting. Go figure.

Some of the private events are 20 people together in a living room, others are 200+ seat events that happen to be invite-only because, for example, they are members-only organizations. Or, for another example, a couple getting married on 4/20 is showing Super High Me at their reception (no kidding).

We think the Roll Your Own program offers a more memorable experience for most people than sitting in a stale multiplex and paying $8 for popcorn. So far, at least 1,500 people agree, and have signed up to Roll Their Own Screening. The projected attendance at all of the events is currently north of 40,000.

  3. How can I share pages on this web site with other people?

Every page on the Super High Me site includes a Share This link. Clicking on the link will let you send an email or SMS, or post a link to Facebook, MySpace, digg, or other sites.
